Wellington Road is the original name for the road that connects Langhorne Creek with the River Murray crossing town named for the Duke of Wellington. It is on this road that Bleasdale has sat since it was established in 1850.
Comprising Shiraz (52%), Cabernet Sauvignon (48%)
This wine shows an abundance of black fruits - blackberry, blackcurrant and plum with a well balanced, medium-bodied palate. The tannins and oak contribute to the structure and length of this traditional Langhorne Creek blend.
Destemmed fruit cold soaked for a jiffy before a warm fermentation and eight to 12 days on skins, with regular pumpovers, Bleasdale gives their wines some extractive love across tiers. And it shows. The tannins define the experience: vanilla-pod, cedar and a little edge, corralling a meld of reductive shiraz and leafy cabernet into a nicer whole. Exceptional drinking at the price.
