History and tradition: the vineyard of Pommard extends on 320 hectares with a panel of soil going from the plain to the top of the slopes. Our plot is located at the top of the hill and is oriented South.
Soil: because of its high hillside position the soil is rather loamy and stony. These characteristics allow pinot noir to express freshness and minerality.
Cellaring potential: 5-7 years Vine planting: 1964 Surface: 0.15 ha Maturation: 14 months Whole cluster rate: 100% New oak barrels rate: 20 to 40%
This too is mildly reduced though the underlying fruit is undeniably ripe. There is good freshness and verve to the medium-bodied flavours that possess a velvety and caressing mid-palate that contrasts markedly with the firm, youthfully austere and mildly rustic finish that offers solid if not special length.
