For some (not myself) the jury is still out in deciding just how far Margaret River shiraz has still to travel before drawing the proverbial line in the sand. Yes, it's more elegant, and arguably less complex than cabernet or cabernet with little tricks in the wrapping of its parcel. But is that a bad thing? The answer is emphatically no for this whole berry-vinified wine that spent 15 days on skins, then 12 months in 34% new oak. Its savoury characters are, quite simply, brilliant.
