From the '83 planting; whole bunch pressed to French oak (25% new) for wild yeast fermentation, 10 months maturation. The bouquet has some toasty complexity, but the very long palate is an exercise in purity and focus, the flavours of white peach and a touch of cream.

The Reserve Wines reflect the heritage of the single Estate philosophy at TarraWarra, with the first vintage in 1986. The wines represent the best sites from the Estate's vineyards and are noted for their longevity and balance.
Racked directly to barrel after whole-bunch pressing, this wine is the purest expression of TarraWarra Chardonnay. Made without yeast or acid addition, the fruit batches from each block are kept entirely separate in barrel over the 10 months in oak. It is crossflow filtered without fining before bottling at the Estate.
