Medium to deep red.Displaying very typical dark cherry and blueberry fruit with hints of chocolate, graphite and subtle spicy/peppery notes. A whisper of charry French oak adds some interest as well. The medium bodied palate has layers of rich, black cherry and blueberry, with a touch of wood smoke and clove, before a layer of fine, savoury tannin kicks in at the end adding length and structure.
Clare Valley Shiraz does tend to live in the large shadow cast by our friends in the Barossa and McLaren Vale. However, we produce terrific medium bodied Shiraz wines year after year that age slowly and gracefully and, in many instances, at a fraction of the price. Delicious to drink now and the next 7 -10 years. Try this with rabbit ragu and your favourite pasta.
