From two sites within the parish of Watervale. 'Traditional' Clare Valley riesling winemaking, with inoculated yeast fermentation in stainless steel before clarifying and then bottling. That said, there's texture here, a gentle savouriness, too. It's heady in perfume with lime, dried apple and alpine herbs. The palate has a staccato nature to texture, it shudders with its big crunch and dryness and feels dusted with dried herb elements amongst the cavalcade of green apple juice and lime. Tasty, easy drinking and not overly complex, but something distinct that makes this wine different/good.

This year the Watervale is a blend of two vineyards: blocks G11 and G6 from the Gullyview vineyard (planted in 2001 on red loamy clay over limestone) and as of 2021 the Kloock vineyard (north of Watervale, with light brown loam over limestone) enters to story. A bit of history... Fruit from Gullyview G6 went into the Rieslings John Vickery made for Richmond Grove in the 2000s. Vickery also sourced fruit from other blocks at Gullyview for some of the legendary Leo Buring Rieslings of the 1970s. So, we're talking about quality Clare real estate here.
