Medium to full salmon-pink colour. The bouquet suggests autumn leaves, forest floor, dried strawberries and dried herbs. It's very fruity but also dry and savoury, with suggestions of smoky-charcuterie and pot-pourri. In the mouth, it's fine and very dry at the close, the savoury theme driving long into an extended aftertaste. Poise and balance; good drinkability. Dr Andrew Pirie is among a select few vignerons to be genuinely considered a legend of the Australian wine industry. After more than 30 years producing, consulting and guiding the production of wines in Tasmania Apogee is the culmination of all his years of experience.
The philosophy at Apogee is simple; produce single vineyard wines from the best small holdings of no more than 2Ha., using Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Gris that Pirie has personally selected to make the finest sparkling wines available from Tasmania.
The main production is a classically blended, traditional-method sparkling comprising around 35 % of pinot noir and 40% chardonnay and the balance from Pinot Meunier.

Light salmon pink with fine mousse and a suitable foamy collar when poured.
Distinctively secondary aromas are part of Apogee style, induced by our oxidative juice handling. Cherry liqueur, raspberry compote, and salty mineral- apple. A touch of coffee from the oak.
Mid-weight palate but surprising flavour richness on the mid-palate due to the high pinot noir content from this special part of the vineyard. Chardonnay freshens the finish with its citrus tang.
