Fresh as a daisy on the nose, which is quite the treat for a nine-year-old wine. Green apples, fresh lemon zest, almond meal, beeswax and biscuits, initially everything is so clean and vibrant but then a moreish, rich, toasty flavour lingers long on the palate. Kate Hill seems to really have a knack for letting a wine relax on its lees and then in bottle before releasing it to our willing glasses. Smooth, lingering and delicious, this is a wine that will delight you throughout Spring and far beyond.
This sparkling wine was crafted from chardonnay and pinot noir grapes grown in the Coal and Huon Valleys. The 2012 vintage delivered low yields and generous natural acidity. With over seven years of bottle maturation on yeast lees, this wine is pale straw, fine- beaded and delivers an attractive perfume with citrus notes. It is creamy, soft and focussed on the palate, with a balanced, powerful finish. Drink now or cellar in anticipation of life's finer moments.
