Fruit from the Mount Barrow vineyard. Wow. What a ripper this is. Powerful and intensely concentrated. Scintillating. Titillating. Rippling layers of flavour – I often describe Mount Barker as capable of producing rieslings of muscularity, strength and prowess: this is the very definition. The warmer year is seductive in this context, with the ripe, plush fruit propped up by vertical tent poles of acid. Awesome.

From one of our favourite "desert island" wineries. The Howard Park Mt Barker riesling is the perfect example of Mount Barker riesling. All lemon/lime splice like aroma, flows to the palate. Hints of soft spice, wet stone and a clean acid backbone. Will age beautifully or drink now. Serve with school prawns and tarragon lemon mayo.
Intensely perfumed with a bouquet of orange blossoms, jasmine, and lavender. The fruit is on the riper end of the spectrum leaning away from lime in favour of apricot, mandarin, and white peach. Intertwined between stone fruit and citrus lies wisps of talc, wet quartz, and ginger spice. The acidity washes over the palate causing a mouth-watering sensation reminiscent of biting into a crispy granny smith apple. Towards the middle of the palate the richer fruits unveil themselves. Rock melon, Meyer lemon, and white nectarine culminate in a beguiling blend with classic Riesling acidity underpinning it all.
