There’s something so intriguing about the fine line that the LD walks between intense richness, dark chocolate, praline, ginger and sweet spice and the floral, orange blossom, cherries, crisp red apples and freshly harvested honeycomb. So complex and moreish, there were only 385 bottles of this wine which flew out of the winery like a greased weasel. If you were lucky enough to snaffle a bottle, it still has years to go, that taut acidity is magnificent as is the freshness of the fruit.
