Note: Less than 400 doz are made from a combined 2Ha plantings on grey marlstone and clay, around Neive and Barbaresco. The oldest of vines were planted in 1968, the youngest in 2004. Fermentation in temperature controlled steel vats for 4-5 days, maturation in oak barriques for 6 months.
The 2020 Barbera d'Alba is gorgeous. Ripe red plum, mocha, spice, leather and tobacco flesh out in a supple, juicy Barbera that will drink well right out of the gate. The 2020 is irresistibly delicious. It spent four months in neutral oak, a relatively short period of aging that works well for this wine.
