2022 Robert Stein Half Dry Riesling, Mudgee

Fruit from Angullong vineyard; hand picked and whole-bunch pressed. A mix of wild and inoculated yeast fermentation in stainless steel; six months on lees. Lemon sorbet, delicate white florals, green melon and celeriac. A perfume so intoxicating you’ll need a full five minutes before you take a sip. Showing great lemon/lime citrus characters, with a nice bouquet of fruit which is balanced out nicely by the crisp, clean acidity.

This Single Vineyard Half Dry Riesling was harvested in the early morning from the Angullong Vineyard at Millthorpe near Orange NSW. Fermentation was cool & slow, with the ferment being stopped at 15 grams residual sugar. The wine was left in tank on lees for a further 4 months, stirring occasionally for further palate texture. 

Typically Robert Stein in style with aromas of lime juice and citrus, this classic Riesling has crisp and racy finish with a slight touch of sweetness to balance the natural acidity. Drink it with shellfish and seafood, oysters, prawns with fresh lemon, whiting fillets. A brilliant aperitif wine.
