Apricots, dried apples, flint, smoked almonds and hints of cloves on the nose. It’s medium-to full-bodied with a pretty, layered and subtly spiced palate. Fresh finish. Drink now.

Pale lemon colour, a little waxiness, a touch of oak, not so many stones. Then a quiet patch, then the real wine comes out behind with a little lime juice. It is a bit disjointed at this stage in its elevage. This normally turns into a first rate wine, but it is not showing its full potential on today’s form.

Wines with the Premier Cru label express more intensity. They can be more fruity, more powerful or more mineral-intense depending on where the grapes come from. They require a longer aging period to fully express their balance, length, intensity and complexity. An elegant appearance echoed by a delicate nose of hazelnut, exotic fruits and white peach. There is also a hint of acacia honey. The mouth is in tune: creamy and coated, supported by a nice freshness. A fine woodiness nicely underlines the fruit. Ideal with fish, sushi, seafood or creamy chicken dishes.
