Light yellow colour, an intriguing nose of lemon-juice and zest, dried herbs and a whiff of honey developing early. It's just off-dry in the mouth, richly flavoured, rounded and loaded with fruit, a faint semblance of sweetness before a dry, stony/mineral finish that lingers long. A richer, riper style that may have seen some wood. It takes me to Austria rather than anywhere in Australia. Lovely. 11 DEC 2022 Drink 2022–2032

From the immediate nose of lemon and lime, to the full weighty palate that includes some ripe pineapple characters, through the biting, cleansing, long, acid, ultra-dry finish, this is a great example of our Heathcote Riesling. Perfect as an aperitif but can also easily match full flavoured first courses. Requested for restaurant use, some 750mL bottles have been sealed under screw cap as a trial.
