Here’s the list: citrusy flavours, pristine stone fruit, ginger spice, creamy lees and lightly toasty, attractive cedary oak offering savoury inputs. And the length, very good length thanks to the acidity. That means all the boxes have been ticked for a most excellent chardonnay. Nothing else to do but give this a light chill, and you too, pour and savour it all.

Tight and focused aromas of white peach, mineral, green melon, nutty oak, spice and nougat. Fresh, crunchy and fruit driven in spite of a decent drive of oak; the citrus and nectarine are predominant and the acidity has snap and bite 20 JAN 2023 Drink 2023–2030

Evocative aromas of cinnamon quills, fruit bread, peach Danish andbuttered popcorn form a welcoming bouquet, underlaid by lifted notes of white grapefruit, orange blossom and yellow nectarine. A luxurious texture unfurls across the palate, reminiscent of ripe stone fruit and dulce de leche, counterbalanced by bright citrus and vibrant acidity. The warm patisserie notes on the nose are mirrored on the palate in the form of baking spice, nutmeal and vanilla. The elongated finish speaks to the persistence of flavour and quality of fruit at the core of this wine, and hints at the richness and complexity that will continue develop with time in bottle.
