A lustrous purple. Reductive aromas of lilac, camphor and iodine with a corset of tension that this approach to winemaking applies. Blue and purple fruits are packed tightly between a framework of judicious oak, sandy tannins and just enough freshness, layered with tapenade and smoked meats. This is contemporary syrah 101: textbook, impeccably made, secure and breaking little ground.
