Salty, peppery, Thai herbal and tactile. A versatile, mid-weighted wine. Solid, but not as good as the winery's vermentino this vintage. A pet gripe is that Oliver's Taranga whites have an underlying cold-ferment-derived aroma of banana. While cooler temperatures are a means to retain primary fruit, this domineering aroma obfuscates complexity.

Very light colour and a pristine fresh new-wine aroma: gardenia, lemon blossom, the palate juicy/fruity and deliciously flavoured. Not excessively dry but beautifully balanced, with excellent ready drinkability. 29 JUL 2022 Drink 2022–2027
