From its humble beginnings as a hobby vineyard in the early 90s Barringwood now operates 3 vineyards across the state, capitalising on the wide climatic and terroir differences to create distinctive wines. Our original Lower Barrington vineyard, with its cool climate and extremely long growing season, allows the production of some of Australia’s best sparkling and aromatic wines and delicate earthy Pinot Noir. Our Cranbrook vineyard on the East Coast produces rich, deeply hued Pinot Noir, while our Evandale vineyard rounds out the trio with beautifully balanced Tamar Valley fruit.
Barringwood vineyard is located on a steep north facing slope overlooking the Don Valley in Tasmania's central North. Established in 1993 the vineyard rises to an elevation of 280m and has one of the longest growing seasons in Tasmania giving their wines delicacy, elegance and immense complexity as well as a distinct backbone of cool climate acidity.
