Bright, medium-depth red colour with a good tint of purple. Attractive smoked-charcuterie aromas which shade the fruit somewhat—a slightly dominant barrel influence, while the palate is very bright and juicy with refreshing acidity and lively personality. Attractive fruit starts to emerge on the bouquet after time in the glass. A delicious, vibrant style of light to medium-bodied pinot, a wine of effortless charm.04 FEB 2022 Drink 2022–2030

Fruit comes from 13yo estate-planted clones 777 and 115 on modified Scott Henry trellis. Super colour. Has the thumbprint of naked varietal power, with luscious red fruits and Asian spices threaded through the palate. Fine tannins underwrite a high-quality pinot that will richly repay cellaring for 10+ years.

Andrew Pirie's objective is to highlight the pure aromatic qualities of the pinot noir grown at Apogee — aromatic red cherry liqueur and raspberry: without excessive oak intrusion. The key structural component of the palate is natural, cool-climate acidity supported with soft grape tannins. Traditional Burgundian methods are employed including cold-soak, wild yeast and aging in French oak barriques.
Mid-colour with bright ruby hue, sweet fruit on mid-palate gives way to good acidity on finish highly aromatic red berry summer pudding, mid-bodied the soft, fleshy texture stands out.
