Riesling sourced from the Kroehn vineyard. Freshly squeezed lime and grapefruit notes leap out of the glass along with hints of bath salts, soft spice, crushed quartz and Christmas lily. Clarity and focus writ large here with pure limey fruits on the palate alongside lemongrass, dried mandarin rind, finger lime and crushed stone. Coiled, shimmering and crystalline with a vivid, sapid acid line that quivers with minerality and a cadence that takes the breath away. Super stuff.

Pale lemon yellow in the glass. Lime curd, talcum powder and oyster shell aromatics. Tight and bright with a concentrated core of lemon and lime fruits that have been layered with saline minerality and a pithy texture. Still very primary and youthful, it will reward cellaring patience 01 FEB 2023 Drink 2023–2038

Colin Kroehn tended his Eden Valley Riesling for 66 years. Our Wonderland of the Eden Valley is made entirely from his vineyard which was planted in 1912 and thrives to this day.
Whole bunches were hand picked in the last week of February then destemmed in small batches without crushing the fruit to fill our press exactly. The free run juice was then fermented in small tanks between 11 and 14 degrees Celsius, the wine has a high level of natural acidity, 8.2 grams per litre, a pH of 2.91 and although bone dry, only 10.8% alcohol.
This Wonderland of the Eden Valley Riesling was bottled directly without fining or filtration to capture the essence of the vineyard, a looking glass if you will, and is ready to drink immediately or cellar for decades. Thank you and Vale Mr. Kroehn Vintage 1924 - 2010.
