Dense red/purple/black colour; blackberry essence aroma, bold and bright and fruit-driven. The wine is big and bold with thumping tannins that coat the entire mouth and leave a solid puckering sensation. Plenty of acidity, too. This demands patience. At the core of this wine is a blackhole of pure cassis and unalloyed black currant. The seamless structure promotes silkiness, yet it is underscored so definitively by super-fine tannins that swirl around a heart of dense mid-palate fruit. Black and blueberry, on-point mulberry, green tobacco leaf, a charred and skinned red pepper.
