Select parcels of fruit were fermented on skins in closed fermenters for 10 days, aged in new and 3yo French puncheons for 27 months. First impression? This is one serious, structured red wine. And the second? Make mine a medium-rare steak. The Barkly affords durif the status it deserves, celebrating its bold ways and its much under-rated elegant herbal/floral detail and savoury tannins. A masterful winemaking performance.

Bright crimson with violet hues. Rich dark plum and cherry fruit with lifted notes of black pepper, cloves and seamless spicy oak. : Powerful dark cherry and mullberry fruit form the base of the palate with oak adding texture and weight. Cloves, bramble and ironstone add complexity and compliment the very finely grained tannins.
