Light yellow hue; reserved and open-knit aromas of baked lemon pudding, poached stone-fruits too, while the palate is delicate and refined, but intense at the same moment, with a kiss of sweetness landing it in the off-dry zone. A refreshing and nicely balanced style. 05 AUG 2023 Drink 2024–2035

Ken Helm describes the wine as 'using some German winemaking techniques.' I have no idea what they might have been, but what you have in the glass is a wine that has wide appeal and uses the sweetness embedded in a fleshy wine screaming for an Asian-style dish.

This is a style of Riesling which is very popular in Germany, where is it is known as Halbtrocken (Half Dry). It is a particularly good accompaniment to spicy dishes as the slight sweetness in the wine balances the spice and heat. Each year there is a fine tune balance between flavour, acid and sweetness. Released under the distinctive red rose coloured label.
