Mike De Iuliis is understandably enraptured by the 'pristine' fruit of a wine that's a 'fantastic expression of cabernet' with an 'exceptionally fine tannin structure.' He ran out of space to praise the glorious colour the wine has. It's one of those all-too-rare cabernets to be drinking well now, but with an outlook as long as you wish. Gorgeous bargain.

Sourced from the cool climate region of Hilltops in south western NSW. The resulting wine is a fantastic expression of cool climate New South Wales with great perfume and hint of French oak on the nose.
A herbaceous palate filled with bell pepper, eucalyptus and framed by luscious blackcurrant. The palate has an exceptionally fine tannin structure giving the wine great length.
The growing season bought spring rain which helped canopy growth in the vineyards. A cooler and longer ripening period allowed for red wines that are spice driven and have complex characteristics.
Cabernet Sauvignon has the potential for short-medium term ageing but we really enjoy the young characteristics of this wine right now. The choice is yours to either drink up or stash away for the next five years.
A slow-roasted lamb shoulder alongside roasted root vegetables will be a treat with the 2021 Special Release Cabernet Sauvignon. A good slathering of homemade mint jelly sauce will be perfect!
