A lightly coloured grenache that presents airy redcurrant, red plum and raspberry fruit tones with hints of medina spice, ginger, cola, Turkish delight, rose petals, cherry cola and various twiggy bits and bobs. Chalky and perfumed in the mouth with a savoury palate shape, bright, lacy acidity and a plume of powdery tannin on the exit. Really pretty, diaphanous drinking right here!

Parallax is Troy Kalleske's early-picked Grenache. Fruit for the wine is harvested two to three weeks ahead of the fruit destined for the Old Vine Grenache, from the same certified organic and biodynamic vineyard at Greenock. The name refers to the idea of seeing the same thing from a different angle. Same variety, same vineyard, entirely different wine. Where the Old Vine Grenache is rich, structured and built for the cellar, Parallax is light, vibrant and made to be enjoyed soon.
Fermented on whole bunches and stalks, with minimal maturation and early bottling to preserve freshness. No added sulphites. The approach is closer to a fresh Beaujolais in spirit than to a traditional Barossa red.
Bright ruby, the nose is fresh and lifted — strawberry, rosemary, floral lift and a hint of spice. The palate is light-bodied and juicy with crunchy red fruit, soft tannins and a clean, lively finish.
A versatile wine at the table. Best served with a slight chill with charcuterie, grilled chicken or vegetables with herbs, Korean bibimbap or a maybe simple tomato pasta.
Drink young.
