Deep garnet in color with a touch of purple, the 2005 The Armagh Shiraz presents enticing smoked meat, black currant preserves and dried mulberries on the nose complemented by notes of charcoal, mocha, nuts and spices making it overall a little funky. Medium to full-bodied with rich, savory fruit concentration, it is framed by medium to firm, grainy tannins that lend a taut and muscular character to the long finish. Approachable now, it should be long lived and drink to 2025+.

A dark multi-layered shiraz, with layers of fruit, minerals and a slightly briary savoury edge; has marked nervosity, power and depth; opens slowly, but has a long story to tell.
