Medium to deep red colour, with a slight hint of purple at the rim. Attractive mix of spice and fresh earth aromas, with a mellow developed overtone. The palate is rich and deep, with fruit sweetness evident surrounded by a clothing of savoury soft tannins. Powdery and fine. Dried herbs again, but the spice and plum of the syrah are to the front here. Intense, deep and just medium length, with an up-front softness which is the main thing that sets this label apart from La Chapelle.03 Apr 2014 Drink 2014–2027
