From a trio of Gevrey 1ers surrounding Mazis-Chambertin - Corbeaux, Fontenys and La Perrière, the latter of which replaces the Petite Chapelle that was in the '99; vinified with 70% stems.
A very densely fruited nose clearly speaks of the sauvage with warm earth, crushed herbs and cool red pinot, plum and black cherry fruit aromas that precede the rich, intense and textured medium weight plus flavors that possess excellent phenolic ripeness and an explosively long finish. This is terrific but note that patience will be required. Drink 2020+
