Inspired by the first visit of a reigning monarch to Australia in 1954, today McWilliam’s Mount Pleasant Elizabeth is the embodiment of the synergy achieved by combining the noble grape variety Semillon and the Hunter Valley. Renowned for its unique ability to be enjoyed when fresh and admired when allowed to age gracefully, McWilliam’s celebrates both styles through Elizabeth. Having been placed in the Mount Pleasant cellars for extended bottle age, this small parcel of Semillon now enjoys the benefits gained from patience.

Bright green hues. Classic citrus characters of lime & lemongrass predominate with wonderful intensity and purity. With bottle age comes lovely honey toast notes and lanolin. An elegant yet intense palate of pure Semillon fruit providing great line and length. This is a seamless wine of rich citrus flavours and fine acid structure hinting at the potential for this wine to cellar with great longevity. Drink now through to 2019, and beyond.

‘Cellar Aged. It is as fresh as a daisy; the colour is still pale, perhaps a touch greener than the '14 Elizabeth, the bouquet now speaking of variety and place, and the lemon/lemongrass flavours of the palate insistent and persistent, not heavy.’
