Wynns Coonawarra Estate was founded by pioneer John Riddoch who planted vineyards in 1891, recognising the potential of the rich, red terra rossa soil and the long ripening season of Coonawarra's cool southerly climate.
Each vintage Wynns select a premium parcel from a single vineyard to bottle separately. The Glengyle Vineyard was first bottled from the 2007 vintage and now from 2009.Planted in 1969, Glengyle is an early ripening vineyard in the heart of the Terra Rossa soil.

A concentrated, layered and fine wine with phenomenal youth, elegance and grace. This wine is intensely bright, with dark fruit carefully balanced by subtle French oak. Focused acid and silky tannin lends the wine precision and length. Depending on personal taste, this wine will reward careful cellaring for 8-15 years.
Vibrant colour; a highly polished and pristine bouquet of cassis, cedar, a note of eucalypt and well handled oak; full-bodied, the palate delivers a long mineral and black fruit-driven experience, with fine-grained tannins and vibrant acidity providing definition on the long finish.
