2010 Chateau Filhot 2nd Grand Cru Half Bottle 375ml, Sauternes

The Château Filhot 2010 is a blend of Sémillon, Sauvignon Bland and Muscadelle;It has an attractive bouquet with good intensity, although the wood still requires another 12-18 months to fully integrate with the heavily botrytized fruit. The palate has a very viscous opening, to wit, an assertive Sauternes wine that is powerful and refuses to stand back. There are notes of dried honey, lemon curd and mandarin. This is one of the better releases from Filhot in recent years. Drink now-2025.
