Dugat Py is a high class Domaine where impressive wine is made from seven hectares of mostly very old vines. The Dugat family have been growing wine in the Gevrey-Chambertin appellation since the beginning of the 17th century. They have five hectares of vineyards, including several Premier Cru and Grand Cru sites. The Domaine has been fully organic since 2003, and they practice as little intervention as possible. The wines are stylish and balanced, and age extremely age. Top wines are aged entirely in new oak.
A more restrained, cool and very pure nose of wild red berries, earth and wet stone scents give way to rich, ripe and densely concentrated mineral-driven flavors. There is a really lovely sense of underlying tension to the suave and mouth coating yet precise finish that delivers excellent persistence on the focused and balanced finish. Once again, this offers terrific quality for its level. Drink 2021+
