From a mix of Brochon vines planted between 1922 and 1961 that average 60+ years of age
This is more deeply pitched than the Jeunes Rois with a ripe, cool and airy nose of dark berry fruit liqueur that is liberally laced with plenty of pungent Gevrey style earth notes that can also be found on the rich, dense and powerful flavors that possess a seductive texture thanks to the huge amount of dry extract that also imparts an opulent mouth feel. There is good structure here but it's almost invisible at present, again thanks to the abundance of extract. This is an outstanding wine for its level and one that will be approachable young but should age very well too.Drink 2018+.
