The 2012 Rosso di Montalcino is soft, pretty and open-knit. The combination of the ripe vintage and desire to make a more accessible style of Rosso comes through in this floral, mid-weight wine. Sweet red cherry, raspberry and expressive, lifted floral notes are some of the signatures. Relative to most Rossos, Biondi Santi's 2012 is brisk and acid-driven, especially for the year, but fans of the estate will find the wine quite accessible. The 2012 spent two years in cask. Drink now – 2026.
