Note: from a 1.7 ha parcel of vines planted in 1902.
This is ripe and serious yet very fresh with a broad-ranging nose that is composed of earth, spice, plum and dark cherry. There is excellent richness to the extract-rich and overtly mineral-inflected medium weight flavors that are shaped by well-integrated and ripe tannins on the lingering, balanced and solidly complex finish. There is a touch of youthful austerity but I suspect that this will drink well young but age gracefully too.
