The 2012 Barolo is a pretty, soft wine that will give up its many charms with minimal time in bottle. Crushed flowers, tobacco, spices and dried cherries are some of the signatures. Firm veins of underlying tannin give the 2012 its sense of proportion and overall classicism. Mid-weight and gracious, the 2012 should drink well with another few years in bottle. Over the time I followed it, the Barolo opened up nicely. The San Pietro, Ravera, San Lorenzo and Fossati are some of the main vineyard sites. Drink 2017-2027. Tasted March 2016.
