The 2012 Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Spatlese starts clear, ripe and flinty on the nose and reveals a very pure but concentrated and intense bouquet with crushed black chocolate aromas, lemon and grapefruit flavours. Sweet, piquant and juicy on the palate, this is a very elegant mouthful of wine with good expression and complexity and a fresh and salty finish. Its aging potential is terrific. If you like your Spätlese rather lean, fresh and piquant you should definitely try this Himmelreich.
