The 2012 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru has a compact, rather unresponsive bouquet that will need to muster more complexity by the time of bottling. The palate is soft and rounded on the entry. It feels plush on the mouth with corpulent jammy red berry fruit laced with dried orange peel and even a smear of marmalade. It is very approachable and will constitute earlier drinking than its fellow Chambolles.
