The 2012 8 Songs Shiraz is deep red in colour with a black core and a bouquet of charcoal chocolate notes with dark plum and mocha, finishing with soft velvety tannins and rich opulent fruit on the palate. While drinking beautifully now, you may wish to put it away in the cellar for another five years or so during which time it will soften further and become a little more complex.
This has a great track record, always with an edge of elegance that is very apparent here with its seamless medium-bodied texture, there are even hints of spice and a whisper of licorice; plum and blackberry are the flavour vectors, couched in a supple embrace of ripe tannins and cedary oak.
