The colour is deep cherry red with a black centre leading to an intense bouquet of blackberry, chocolate and aniseed. There is a background hint of stylish French oak and the palate is firm and long. This is a limited release, single vineyard wine with a strong sense of place which will repay a number of years careful cellaring.
James Halliday 27 Jul 2015
The Blesing Vineyard is in the Southern Flinders Ranges, 400m above sea level; a relatively short 10-day fermentation was followed by 12 months in French oak. It is an exciting wine, with satsuma plum, licorice and spice notes embroidered by fine-grained tannins; emphatic length, yet elegant. 400 dozen made.
