An outstanding late-picked wine with botrytis influence, the colour bright mid-yellow and the bouquet disarmingly complex and charming, laden with honey, vanilla, malt and nougat aromas. It has freshness as well as sweet but not syrupy richness, the palate adding dried and candied fruits to the mix. (cork)
96 points Huon Hooke The Real Review
Known as the D’Yquem of the Loire Valley 2013 Chateau de Fesles Bonneaux is a semi-dry style with a deep golden yellow colour with silver highlights. Bouquet is very expressive displaying candied fruit, apricot, pineapple and tropical fruits with a touch of woody and spicy notes. an abundance of minerals and honeyed botrytis.
Uncanny in its sheer concentration, but not at the cost of finesse or elegance. Luscious sweetness is perfectly balanced by vibrant acidity. The endless finish inundates the palate with a wave of flint, prune and cinnamon. This is what noble late-harvest chenin blanc is meant to be.
