The Pinnacle vineyard always produces a darker style of wine that will definitely benefit from ageing but already has the elegance and concentration that Dalwhinnie Shiraz has become famous for over its lifetime.
The ancient Barossa clone and elevation of the site certainly influence the eventual style of the wine which should make it intriguing for any Dalwhinnie enthusiasts. As you would expect this is matured with only the finest French oak from the Allier forest and in medium toast to ensure it imparts a subtle background nuance.
A third of the fruit is whole bunch fermented which produces silky tannins and also results in an exotic nose of dried spices such as cinnamon and cloves.
