Intense, dark-fleshed (Black Doris) plums is the most obvious descriptor, but there are many more including liquorice, mixed spice (especially anise and a cardamom), leather, dried herb and the subtle aroma of red rose petals. Firmly structured wine but with plenty of flesh on its bones. The density and complexity alone are evidence of a pretty special vintage. 04 AUG 2015 Drink 2015–2026
