Tim Smith is an extraordinarily talented Barossa winemaker from South Austtalia. He draws inspiration from the Southern Rhone appellation and is a huge fan of wines of Bandol. He seeks out old vine Mataro, Grenache and shiraz from his Barossa growers and crafts “Rhone Style” reds with fragrance, elegance and power.
Sourced from 10 vineyards, the oldest 130yo; part Barossa Valley, part Eden Valley. Made with great skill, matured on fine yeast lees in mostly French oak. This is a seriously good wine, awash with black fruits, licorice and fine, brambly tannins; the balance and length are perfect, the oak fully integrated.
