More rain than usual and a cold snap in November and December meant that flowering was disrupted, hence yields for vintage 2014 were significantly down across all southern Australian states. However, these lower yields meant that the fruit from that vintage was of excellent quality, with perfect balance between flavour and physiological ripeness. Bright straw gold colour in the glass, a swirl and sniff reveals aromas of citrus pith and struck match. The palate is a mixture of citrus and white stone fruits with creamy nuances from times on lees, supported by fine acidity and well integrated French oak. Have it with pork with a mushroom sauce
