With its delicately herbal and tomato notes as well as restrained and cool flavors, this is a slightly lean and austere Medoc wine.

The Château Lanessan 2014 has an unusually high-toned bouquet with blackberry and iodine aromas, Margaux-like in style, with a pinch of cedar and black pepper. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, a little pinched at the moment but this Lanessan should mellow and gain weight by the time bottling. Classic, reserved with a graphite aftertaste - those that appreciate the style of Lanessan will appreciate their 2014. Drink 2018-2028.
