Quite a gutsy, flavoursome pinot noir with sweet dark cherry, stewed plum, spice, anise and toasted oak flavours. A 'crowd pleasing' pinot that delivers plenty of bang for the buck 25 JUL 2017
Bob Campbell MW The Real Review
Dark, deepish ruby-red colour with light garnet hues on the rim.
The nose is light and elegant, with tightly bound aromas of savoury dark-red cherry fruit along with a fine layering of dark and dried herbs forming a tight core. Subtle notes of florals and earth unfold, showing the beginnings of secondary development.
Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a lively core of concentrated savoury dark-red berry fruit melded with dark and dried herbs and subtle earthy detail. The fruit is sweet and the palate is mouth-watering with fresh, underlying acidity.
The wine flows with good energy and drive following a fine-grained, textured line, leading to a lingering finish of savoury red fruits and dried herbs.
