2014 Penny’s Hill Specialized Shiraz Cabernet Merlot, McLaren Vale

Blending Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon from the elevated, narrow rows of Penny’s Hill Vineyard with juicy Merlot grown on the black ‘Bay of Biscay’ soils of Goss Corner Vineyard, produces ‘The Specialized’.  A wine of special character; showing volume, structure and approachability.

Shiraz 50%, Cabernet Sauvignon 30%, Merlot 20%

Crimson with red hues. Lifted dark plum and blueberry fruits with oak spice, dark chocolate and cedary oak.
Harmoniously blended, the palate shows an abundance of dark bramble fruits with layers of mocha, spice and earthy notes. Fine long tannins from the cabernet sauvignon are perfectly balanced with elegant fruit and classy French oak to produce a wine of persistence and poise.
