The attractively layered and extremely fresh nose offers up ripe aromas of high-toned red cherry with background notes of violets, spice and warm earth. There is impressive volume to the full-bodied and opulently rich flavours that possess an abundance of mouth coating sap that imparts a velvety, even lush mouth feel to the beautifully well-balanced finale. This is a strikingly good combination of finesse and controlled power. Drink: 2026+
‘Dark, bright red. Brambly aromas of black raspberry, game and pepper show a distinctly sauvage masculine character. Densely packed, palate-saturating flavors of wild dark berries and saline minerality lifted by a peppery element. Really bulletproof fruit here. Finishes with a sexy touch of sucrosité and outstanding lift. A great young Chapelle.’ 93-95 Points Stephen Tanzer Vinous.com Jan 2016
