The 2014 Organic Red consists of a blend of 51% Shiraz and 49% Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from Organic vineyards around the Western Cape. The grapes were sorted, destemmed and crushed and wild, spontaneous fermentation took place in a combination of concrete tanks and open top stainless steel fermenters using the submerged cap fermentation technique. 60% of the wine spent 11 months in older oak barrels after which the wine spent another 3 months in stainless steel tank before bottling.
The nose is concentrated with deep red plum fruit with subtle floral spice undertones. The palate shows great freshness. An accessible wine with firm tannins Drink now until 2019.
